“The Harley Journey” Mural

Harley Davidson Showroom Mural; La Crescent, Minnesota

The clients who commissioned this mural for their Harley Davidson showroom at their private residence wished for a functional bike display with a unique look and feel. Spanning across four angled walls, the Harley landscape mural gives the impression that the bikes are en route from city to countryside. Personal touches include outdoor scenes from client’s family photos, bikers/bikes of family and friends, and you can make out the personalized license plate of the rider as he heads into the mountain landscape.

“Bill’s Harley Bar” Mural

Harley Davidson Showroom Mural; La Crescent, Minnesota

For the opposite side of the Harley Davidson showroom and extending across three slightly angled walls, the client requested a H.O.G. (Harley Owner’s Group) lounge scene and piano bar, featuring well-known Harley owners, classic celebrities, members of the client’s family (the client himself is featured as the bartender), their pets and personal friends, and even the muralist herself (upper left with Groucho Marx). Celebrities include the Rat Pack, the Blues Brothers, Sonny and Cher, Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, Jimmy Buffet, Vanna White, Henry Fonda, Tina Turner, Lucille Ball, Elvis Presley, Liberace, and Harley executive Willie G. Davidson (front and center of the piano). The wall-mounted vacuum system (far left) is camouflaged in black, featuring a redesigned Harley Davidson logo entitled “Bill’s Harley Bar.”

Children’s Literature Mural

River Heights Elementary School Library Mural; Menomonie, Wisconsin

(Above) Musician Peter Yarrow of the legendary folk trio “Peter, Paul and Mary” made a special visit to see Weiss’s completed mural.

At River Heights Elementary School in Menomonie, Wisconsin, a 1000 sq. ft. mural spans the length of the large library in which characters from well known storybooks, old and new, come together to celebrate the role of the illustrator in children’s literature.

Through a joint commitment to the arts in education among the university and school district, Weiss designed and painted the arts integration mural, uniting famous book characters from children’s literature into one long scene which spans across the wall in four seasons. (Permission was requested of the original illustrators and publishers to include the characters in the mural).

“Lost Treasure Golf” Mural

maxresdefaulvvt.jpg

Outdoor Pumphouse Mural for “Professor Hacker’s Lost Treasure Golf”; Branson, Missouri

Four-sided mural on the pump house of Branson’s Lost Treasure miniature golf business. Having a central location within the mini golf resort, the pumphouse walls are viewed by golfing customers as well as and pedestrians and traffic along the main street of downtown Branson. For the mural project, the clients requested scenes which feature the business’s cartoon mascot “Professor Hacker” (as pictured on their signage and golf cards) in a mining environment which fits in with the theme of the golf course.

Manager of Lost Treasure Golf, Fred Smith, poses with muralist Tami Rae Weiss and two of her children. The children played miniature golf while their mom painted and went on to become professional mini golfers (kidding).
