Having a creative skill set that is as wide ranging as her career goals, Tami Rae Weiss combines amazing content design, awesome writing, innovative thinking and an endless supply of tenacity. Weiss specializes in creative strategy and big ideas, bringing concepts to life with strong visual messages that have a targeted purpose.

Weiss manages creative output from concept to final product, applying graphic design skills in marketing, advertising, illustration, photography, digital imaging, and social media.

20+ Years:

  • Education/training in visual arts education (B.S. in 1999) (M.S. in 2004) (PhD in 2014)

  • 20+ years teaching and curriculum design in visual arts education (WI Educator License 550-ART, K-12 Visual Arts Education) (La Crescent, MN, 1999-2008) (Elk Mound, WI, 2008-10) (UW-Stout, 2010-present)

  • Freelance professional content design for print: books, posters, brochures, newsletters, and handbooks

  • Fine art and illustration, rendering all things two-dimensional in any visual arts medium, receiving commissions for drawing, painting, and photography work

  • Exceptional communication skills in writing/editing, media relations, and public speaking 

  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Lightroom

  • Freelance professional photography and digital imaging with a keen eye for aesthetics/design

  • Theater set design and mural painting for schools, theaters, churches, and libraries

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously with ability to prioritize

  • See projects to completion at the highest quality

10+ Years:

  • Formal training in graphic and new media design (Western Wisconsin Technical College, 2005) (PhD sub-program, 2014)

  • University teaching and directing of art education program at UW-Stout

  • Serve as principal investigator for arts integration grants (Over 1.5M funding to date)

  • Creative/art direction and lead design for Art Integration Menomonie (A.I.M.) and Art Education at UW-Stout

  • Conceptualize, design and prototype print and digital content

  • Present ideas, designs, and work and to internal stakeholders

  • Serve as Chair for Executive Board of Directors

  • Hire and direct freelancers and consultants; write contracts; oversee budget

  • Train, supervise and mentor university interns and conduct performance reviews

  • Direct marketing and recruiting campaigns, including email and social media platforms

  • Use a wide range of touch points including content design for print, web, and screen

  • National presentations and publications, including multimedia keynote address
